A: Chloride fertilizers have a high salt index, whereas Sulfate fertilizers have a low salt index. Salinity largely comes from Potassium fertilizers. For Durian, Potassium Sulfate (SOP) is much more suitable than Potassium Chloride (MOP) because Durian is highly sensitive to salinity. Using too much Potassium Chloride (MOP) can cause leaf burn and reduce yield.
